If you’re looking for a plant that will tolerate neglect, Lantana is the best choice. Lantana are heat tolerant, don’t require constant watering and will grow in than ideal soils. Also deadheading (removing spent blossoms) is a thing of the past since some varieties are self cleaning. Lantana attracts butterflies and hummingbirds and is deer resistant. Prune when necessary to shape plants through the summer.
