Zinnia are available in many colors and heights for full sun to part sun locations. We sell the Profusion series (below) that are 12 to 15 inches in height  and spread available in many colors. Pictured below is an outstanding bed of Profusion zinnias on Catawba Island on the Lake Erie shoreline!

Issues to watch for is aphids in the growing tips and underside of leaves. Use a spray you’re comfortable with or Bayer Advanced products. Spider mites may also be present but aphids are more common. Avoid overhead watering which can lead to powdery mildew. Here is a great article on zinnias diseases and cures.

The other zinnia variety we grow is “Magellan” series (below). These have 5 inch fully double flowers with a height of 14 inches or taller depending on soil moisture. Great in full sun. As with all zinnias, avoid watering overhead to avoid mildew on the leaves. Plants should be dry at sunset. Use an open hose around the base of the plant/roots. Fertilize with our liquid concentrate fertilizer for best results.
