Fuchsia hanging baskets are both gorgeous and easy to maintain if the night temperatures are above 60 degrees!! Fuchsias are a perfect gift for Mothers Day, usually between May 10 and May 15 but if the plant is hung outside the night temperatures are still too cold.
Fuchsias need 60 degree nights to be healthy so we recommend taking the hanging basket indoors, even if this means they are indoors for many nights. If they are left outside on a cold night the leaves will droop and they flowers might begin to fall off. Of course, panic sets in because the recipient thinks there is something wrong with the plant.
If Mothers Day were moved to the end of May all these issues would be resolved! Fuchsia hanging baskets purchased at the end of May produce much better results.

Summer care is simply providing afternoon partial sun/shade when temperatures are hot. Fuchsias can tolerate slightly more sun if the daytime temps are moderate.
Fertilize weekly with our fertilizer using the #21 bottle which can be purchased from us. Daily watering in the summer heat will be required, allowing excess water to drip from the saucer!
